Burke Law is owned and operated by Caitlin Burke, Esquire. Caitlin is an honors graduate of the University of Florida and the University of Miami School of Law. After focusing on research and writing during law school, Caitlin accepted a position at the Department of Children and Families as a Children’s Legal Services Attorney and practiced for 4 years in litigation before opening a firm in September 2019. Caitlin focuses on Business and Estate Planning, but still handles litigation matters for clients when issues arise. She enjoys incorporating her experience in the courtroom into her business and estate planning with knowledge of the rules of civil procedure and evidence. Caitlin was a member of the Miami Law Review and her article on union-negotiated collective bargaining agreements was published in the journal. The Miami Law Review awarded Caitlin the Best Casenote Award for a different article on her analysis of childhood vaccines and preemption law. Caitlin is a member of the Business Section of the Florida Bar and a member of the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association. She is the Executive Director of Youth Equity Project, Inc. a 501(c)(3) that provides resources to Alachua Academy, a female commitment program in Gainesville, Florida that houses girls 13-18 committed to the program through the Department of Juvenile Justice. Caitlin enjoys working with companies that are committed to sustainability practices. She values the planet and people, and loves working with clients to create business and estate planning options for owners to fulfill their for-profit goals while positively contributing to society. Caitlin creates business entities, such as a Benefit Corporation or LLC. She has experience with nonprofit planning, including for profit/nonprofit hybrid structuring and completing the IRS 1023 for 501(c)(3) approval and status. Caitlin creates operating agreements, bylaws, conflict of interest policies, and other governing and/or business documents/contracts, etc. to structure an entity as well as plan for sustainability practices. Burke Law is of counsel to Howard M. Rosenblatt, P.A. Howard has practiced estate planning for more than 40 years. Howard received the Pro Bono Award from the Florida Bar in 2019. In her free time, Caitlin enjoys biking, yoga, horseback riding, karaoke, and travel.
