EcoCultura Fest is an arts-meets-environmental-activism celebration featuring performances, educational workshops, and an eco vendor village taking place Saturday, April 18, 2020. The event will be presented by MDC Live Arts, part of the Cultural Affairs division at Miami Dade College.
MDC Live Arts will cap off its environment-focused “EcoCultura” 2019-20 season with this free, public event that celebrates the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. The event will feature music acts, climate experts, historians, a climate-focused poetry slam, and a special performance by National Water Dance, a renowned site-specific dance event that highlights water issues across the U.S.
EcoCultura Fest will coincide with Miami Dade County’s annual Biscayne Bay clean-up event called Baynaza at Virginia Key Beach Park, where festival goers, MDC faculty, staff, and students can volunteer to help keep one of South Florida’s most important ecological systems free of debris. Additional action-oriented eco activities such as tree planting and nature hikes will be offered at the event.
