Our democracy is fragile
In response to the growing influence of authoritarian leaders around the globe, President Biden and the U.S. State Department will be holding a virtual Summit on Democracy from December 9th–10th. Leaders from the U.S. government, foreign heads of state, civil society, and private sector will discuss challenges and opportunities facing democracies around the globe. The meeting will provide a platform for leaders to make both individual and collective commitments to defend democracy and human rights at home and abroad.
In parallel to the summit, Business for America is planning a 75-minute webinar on December 8th (12:00pm – 1:15pm EST) to discuss “How Business Can Address the Threats to Democracy.” We’ll focus on the escalating threats to our political stability and form of government, and provide a roadmap for individual company and collective business action to protect our representative democracy and capitalistic economy.
The discussion will include insightful presentations from Ian Bassin, co-founder of Protect Democracy, Didi Kuo of Stanford University, Joel Elliot of Salesforce, Dave Leichtman of Microsoft, and others.
Join us on Wednesday December 8th from 12:00 – 1:15PM EST to learn how you can be part of the solution.
Register soon because space is limited. We hope you’re able to join us!
