Buildings that meet the Passive House standard use 70-90% less heating and cooling energy than conventional buildings, have excellent indoor air quality, superior comfort and are resilient in the face of extreme weather.
Given these benefits, it’s no surprise that Passive House construction is gaining momentum throughout the US and that some energy codes are moving towards Passive House-levels of performance. This introductory lecture is meant to educate viewers about high-performance construction strategies, how they can be applied in hot and humid climates and how they work with LEED.
